You will pay for Friday's late trade with your whole Saturday.

By Alan Solarsh · 6 November 2026

You will pay for Friday's late trade with your whole Saturday. The open trade follows you home and sits in your head all weekend.

You stand in a cramped aisle that smells of sawdust and cold metal. A heavy paint can drags at your arm, yet your mind stays on Friday's trade. The shop assistant asks a question, and you hear none of it.

Do not open new trades before the Friday close. Keep the weekend for rest, because a fresh trade will nag at you. Treat your account like a business that needs patience, not quick wins.

Pros: You rest properly and start Monday with a clearer head. The rule also stops tired, rushed trades at the end of the week.

Cons: You may skip a trade that would have worked out well. This rule does not protect you from losses made during the week.

I use the lessons on my blog to see how the forex market behaves on Fridays.
