Daily trading lesson

Many traders open a chart and feel lost in all the moving candles.

By Alan Solarsh · 4 November 2026

Many traders open a chart and feel lost in all the moving candles. Without a routine, they jump straight to the newest price and miss the bigger picture.

Start at the far left and see if price drifts up, down or sideways. Next, mark the clear highs and lows where price turned around. Finally, look at the far right edge to see where price sits now.

Pros: This routine is quick, so it suits traders who have day jobs and little time. It also gives you the same calm order every time you open a chart.

Cons: The steps show what price did but cannot predict what happens next. You still need patience to practise them until they feel natural.

I use the Learn to Read a Forex Chart course to see trends and turning points.
