Daily trading lesson

You were right about the trade, then closed early and gave up a win.

By Alan Solarsh · 7 November 2026

You were right about the trade, then closed early and gave up a win. Your chart reading was not the mistake, and the cost came from your exit.

You close your trade early, before the New York session opens. Price keeps climbing after the open, well past where you exited. Your read was correct, but the early exit cost you the rest of the move.

Reading a chart and closing a trade are two different skills. Find out which one fails you, because each needs its own fix. Write your exit rule before you enter, then follow it exactly.

Pros: A written rule calms doubt, and you know your exit before the trade starts. You also have a clear note to check when you feel unsure.

Cons: A rule cannot tell you where price will go. Sticking to it takes patience, and it can feel wrong when price keeps moving.

I use the Rule 2 robot to see candles against a moving average in forex markets.
