Gold Four Hour Chart Demand Zones and Lines | 30 October 2026

By Alan Solarsh · 31 October 2026

Alan walks through a Gold demand zone, explaining how he draws it and when it counts as mitigated.

What the chart shows

This Gold chart uses four-hour candles, and price slid lower before moving sideways. Recent candles sit near green zones, with orange lines marking nearby price levels. Lines mark single levels, while zones mark wider areas where price has previously paused.

SA forex traders with day jobs have little time, so clear levels help. A quick look at the zones shows where price has stalled in the past.

Key points from the video

  • Alan links the recent slide in Gold to the Fed holding rates, saying institutions may keep money in dollars to earn interest.
  • Price is still inside a demand zone, and Alan says it counts as mitigated only when a new candle opens below the level.
  • Alan points out a morning star pattern with a rapid move down and an engulfing candle, and says it formed during the day, which makes it more significant.
  • He draws a second demand zone there, taking the top from the candle close and dropping the bottom to the wick, where he knows orders sit.
  • Alan drops an orange horizontal line first as a reference, so the zone keeps its structure when he drags it across to the right.

Questions about this chart

What is a demand zone on a Gold chart?

Alan draws it from the candle close down to the wick, because that is where he knows orders sit. He then extends the green zone across the chart to the right.

When is a demand zone mitigated?

Alan says you wait for a new candle to open below the zone level. Until that happens the zone is not mitigated, so he keeps extending it across the chart.

Why did Gold move lower in this chart?

Alan links the move to the Fed holding rates at the FOMC announcement. He says institutions may keep money in dollars to earn interest, so there is no hike yet.
